I still keep twitter around because a lot of mangaka I follow only post there. Unknown rando reported my account and it was suspended for being a bot or something, irk. Anyway, a few days later, it was unsuspended. I liked TWO tweets over the course of 5 minutes, and was immediately suspended again.

Who goes to a concert movie to look at their phone most of the time?

We stopped by the cafe that makes our fave kinako daifuku yesterday before going to the ROM and, uh, bought a big batch to take home. We had two of them there and they gave us a bonus matcha one! While tasty, they're not actually cheap (so we rarely get to go) but that was so nice of them. 🥹

We stopped by the cafe that makes our fave kinako daifuku yesterday before going to the ROM and, uh, bought a big batch to take home. We had two of them there and they gave us a bonus matcha one! While tasty, they're not actually cheap (so we rarely get to go) but that was so nice of them. 🥹
From some light comments about weather, some rando assumed we were new-ish immigrants who had never experienced real winter weather before (even though we've lived in the neighbourhood for 12+ years and this country since forever) and they had to share their opinion that global warming wasn't real.

The snow beat us on our fourth round. We had to give up after getting most of it done because it was falling faster than the two of us could clear it. OTL

I sewed something for the first time in over a year (2?).
Not because the sewing room is ready (it's in worse mess than the last time I spoke of it) but out of necessity.
It was just 4 straight lines on a solid colour of fabric and how unforgiving all that was.
Did not turn out remotely well.

I'm halfway to my dream sewing room but will I even have time to sew? It was a big part of why I stopped before and not like a whole lot has changed there.

For my work's micro-ing system, you have to change the status when you go for lunch or whatever. A big bubble covers the screen saying "you're on a break!" and all I can think of is Friends.

Another late bedtime yet again while doing trip planning and actually forgot today I needed to book train tickets at 2:15am and only remembered 2 minutes ago (I forgot to set an alarm). Thank goodness the train we were aiming for wasn't a popular one. Still managed to get the seats we wanted.

Last year I learned that Iceland publishes an annual list of highest taxes paid. Their wealth flex is also a flex on giving back to the country and government and social services and I think about that a lot
I like paying taxes. Genuinely. Not grudgingly. I can’t pave a road, I can’t build and staff a hospital. $200 in my pocket won’t pay for my kid’s daycare but if we all pool our money it might. I really wish someone on the left would be brave enough to be like, “Taxes are good, actually.”

Was super bummed to just find out that the best fruit sandwich place (and amazing fruit parfaits) in Tokyo is now gone. At least they still have their original shops but not in a prefecture we'll be visiting.

AC keeps updating our return flight to leave earlier and earlier. One of the downsides to having chosen Narita to fly in/out of. But it was also 2k difference (EACH way) with Haneda so...

Work's really going all-in on micro-ing their lowest paid workers.
The last time they forced this, they wasted a ton of money and it didn't even last 2 years (though they kept pushing it in that time). Now they want a repeat after 7 years.
