Given the Coalition is now suddenly very concerned over what will happen if people retire while renting, a reminder they knew this was coming while Frydenberg was treasurer - their own review into retirement income highlighted this was a problem. They did nothing.

So far in 2026, Containers for Change have had 982 million containers returned. $98 million in 10c refunds was paid to Queenslanders, and $2.1 million was donated to charities and community causes. These are mostly bottles that have now been recycled instead of going into landfill.
