Erstwhile full-time scientist.
Hmm... then perhaps I won't be using that term. I do spend a fair bit of time behind a laptop, but I truly am concerned about the working class, poor, and vulnerable.

I'll be saving the term "sheltered laptop class" for future use, with all due credit to you.

The rabies case fatality rate for both humans and dogs is effectively 100%. If your dog gets rabies it WILL die. if you get rabies you WILL die.

Talk to Neville C and ask him how that approach worked for him.

Sad. When I was a post-doc I was a proud recipient of a Department of Defense fellowship for breast cancer research. Can’t imagine that happening today, unless it was funding for research on how to make breasts bounce more.

I’ve worked with so many talented international students during my career. Now I can’t imagine why anyone, and I do mean anyone, would want to pursue graduate work in this country right now. The cruelty of this administration is just heartbreaking

I kinda lost hope when he was elected the first time, and I never thought a president could be worse than the shrub. I was so, so wrong.

And all of them took the position seemingly without asking themselves the most basic question: Am I qualified?

And to think, I had a DoD postdoctoral research fellowship- back when the DoD provided generous support for cancer research. Good times.

Where is the medical council of these parents? Do the clinicians offer the shot, and then, when declined just go 🤷🏻‍♀️ rather than discussing the protective benefits of the shot?

I’m honored to have collaborated with Prof Garry on Ebola & Lassa for which he and his group made seminal contributions. He is a scientist of the highest integrity and I’m saddened to see him made the target of unfounded and vicious attacks made by idiot politicians who know nothing about research.

And also liked how after Scrooge asks whether anything can be done for the poor waifs the ghost echoes back Scrooge's own words with a smile and a sarcastic tone: "Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?"
