It seems so obvious that I struggle to understand how people fail to see it. Starmer tells us that *WE* have to stop Reform by voting Labour, whereas *HE* could do it by introducing PR. But then we'd lose any remaining incentive to vote for his party.

“Concentrated fossil power leads to concentrated political power. Had we been less dependent on fossil fuels, there might have been no President Trump, no President Putin, no ayatollahs, no Prime Minister Netanyahu. Fossil fuels push the world towards autocracy. “
We need to be honest about Iran – and how our rampant greed for oil is causing mayhem | George Monbiot
Oil has empowered capitalism, and some of the world’s most exploitative regimes. Move away from it and we can solve some of the key issues we face, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

I have a lot of respect for Prof Bullock - always spot on.
My letter in the Guardian countering an article by a pro-growth lobbyist from Britain Remade attacking environmental legislation

“Ecologists & conservationists would be surprised by his claim that the UK doesn’t & never will build enough to drive nature loss”

Guess those renewables and regenerative agriculture aren’t “unfeasible” now.

Happy International Womens’ Day I guess.

Stop celebrating “strong” women. We don’t want you to clap for us. We want a world where we don’t have to be “strong” and carry the world on our shoulders.

Just stop trashing the planet and our lives.

People talk about “sacrifices” of being vegan are the food you’ll no longer eat - cheese, chocolate, cream, eggs….

No one talks about the real sacrifices, the social implications. Becoming unpopular for not tolerating abuse. The bullying. The hostility.

Ngl, drives me mad everyone goes on about how bad AI is for water use, pollution and fossil fuels, but then they don’t want to talk about animal agriculture. They’ll boast they don’t use AI because of the environment whilst eating a beef burger.

Trying to do environmentally friendly travel as possible, booked us a train trip to Aviemore. Looking forward to the adventure and documenting the pros and cons. Hoping to hire a bike to go bird watching too.

Now is not the time to be quiet. It isn’t a ceasefire. It’s a stealth fire. Trump and his board of warmongers intend to use Gaza as a template. Replace the UN. Turbo charge the colonisation. Delete your rights.

“It echoes warnings some of us have made for years, only to be dismissed as nutters, doomsayers and extremists...“It is unlikely the UK would be able to maintain food security if ecosystem collapse drives geopolitical competition for food.”
The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot
It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Interesting that even the Guardian didn’t mention the report strongly hints at being more plant based and significantly reducing animal agriculture.

It’s funny how they call it “unproductive” land because it isn’t exploitable for high yield, yet it tends to often be the land most productive for ecosystem services - water and pollution absorption, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, clean air, clean water, soil health…

Veganism is social justice, just as much as it is animal rights and environmental justice.

If you care about people and humanity- go vegan.

If you are anti colonialism and anti capitalism - go vegan.
