i only suggest this because it seems to be one of few places you can read candid discussion between *mostly* intelligent people in relevant fields. it's all still a lot of yapping about whatifs and oooooOoOo roko's basilisk but yknow

you should go read some of the weird culty ai alignment posting that's been going on on LessWrong for a while.
was a "rationalist" forum (to their credit, mostly in good faith and not chuddy facts versus feelings essentialism) that has since turned into an aibro orgy

i know a lot of people that enjoy the fact that it is terrifying. whether because they're making someone go through that (sadist streak) or going through it themselves (masochist streak) which does tend to describe a lot of kinks.

it's all still within the realm of fantasy so there isn't anybody actually dying. just characters that often come back anyway, because they're characters.
