This is murder. The UK government has already been exposed as covering up evidence that its anti-trans policies have lead to a drastic increase in suicides among trans youth. This will ensure that number climbs even higher. And for what? Getting JK Rowling to tweet something nice about them?
The UK just proposed new school guidance that effectively bans even social transition for trans students (using a different name, pronoun or haircut). It implements a full bathroom ban while requiring mandatory outing of trans youth if a teacher suspects they are trans.
