Longtime pitching WAR hater here. Willfully ignoring a pitcher’s actual run prevention is a hell of a way to manufacture value with math based on a carnival game version of pitching that doesn’t actually exist on Earth.

My wife has done securities law, and we both agree it’s hilarious how much scrutiny in sports media Walter has drawn due to an insurance regulator shoring up a balance sheet when Steve Cohen actually belongs in jail and nobody talk about it.
