They should've spent more time, given maybe another episode or two of breathing room to show her family actually adjusting to Kamala being what she is. Being exposed slowly to the concepts, etc

Suspension of disbelief does so much work when in one episode of Ms Marvel her mom doesn't even want her to go to a con on her own, to her mom sitting there googly-eyed with a stupid, oblivious grin on the SABER station, just completely fine with everything.
