🎉👏Shout Out 🎉👏: Congrats to 4 young teens from the South Frontenac community - Lucas Hammer, Caleb Hammer, Preston Klein & Jayden Kermeen. These 4 young men recently competed at U16 European Stocksport Championships in Oberwart, Austria and placed 4th overall in the U16 Team Target event.

Today (Monday, September 7) is Labour Day. On this day, all Township offices and the Loughborough landfill will be closed. Garbage will be collected one day later this week. Emterra will still collect recycling today and the schedule will remain the same for the week.

Reminder: The football field at The Point is not a dog park, however, if you utilize the space when Sydenham High School is not, please pick-up after your dog. The field will be heavily used now that the kids are back in school and athletes do not need to encounter any surprises. Thank you.

Lower Brewers Swing Bridge (Washburn Road - County Road 12) will be swung open for maintenance work on Fri, Sept 4, from approx. 9 am-1 pm.

Vehicles will not be able to cross the bridge. Motorists are asked to plan ahead and use an alternate route during the closure.

School is back in session tomorrow! Keep your eyes open - drivers are encouraged to slow down, stay alert and watch for school buses and crossing guards, especially in school zones. Good luck for the 26/27 school year, and don't forget to enter our 'Remember the Summer - Back to School' contest.

Next Monday, September 7, is Labour Day. On this day, all Township offices will be closed and garbage will then be collected one day later throughout the week. There will be no changes to Emterra's recycling pick-up schedule.

The work on the new Eagle Creek Bridge is now complete. The roadway is now open to traffic ahead of schedule. Only minor items remain such as line painting which will be completed at a later date.

The Township would like to thank residents & businesses for their patience during the project.

The hours of operation for the bathrooms located at The Point in Sydenham and Gilmour Point Beach in Battersea will take effect on Labour Day (Sept 7) until the end of Sept:

Sydenham Point:
Mon - Fri, 8am – 4pm
Sat and Sun, 8am – 7pm

Gilmour Point:
Mon - Fri, 9am – 3pm
Sat and Sun, 9am – 6pm

South Frontenac staff have identified a potential algae bloom at Gilmour Point Beach on Dog Lake in Battersea. While waiting for confirmation we have closed the beach to the public. Day camp attendees will participate in land only activities until cleared. More info:
