The music, composed by James Newton Howard, is fantastic. It perfectly complements the film's tone and manages to convey both the wonder and beauty of dinosaurs and the horrible, grueling desperation of extinction. Movie soundtracks rarely sound like this anymore and I miss it.

A wide view of the planet Mars fills the frame, shown as a curved, rust-colored world against black space.
