This cinema shows everything other AMCs in the city don’t like the excellent Memoir of a Snail. Loved the romance of citibiking to and from this tucked away location on 2nd av.
The beloved NYC movie theater, AMC Kips Bay, is shutting its doors by the end of the year, after NYU Langone purchased the shopping center it resides in. Now, fans of the theater are rallying to save it.

I think an American flag created entirely by black men at the Superbowl is one of the best pieces of art I've seen in my lifetime. I hope it actually killed some folks. And I hope it finally closes the fucking book on the argument that we shouldn't use the flag to fight the God damned fascists.

The question to me is whether it's that WIRED is the only one getting this dirt, or it's that WIRED is the only one who dares publish it. The fact that these stories aren't being immediately vultured onto the New York Times front page with minimal or no attribution makes me suspect the latter

The question to me is whether it's that WIRED is the only one getting this dirt, or it's that WIRED is the only one who dares publish it. The fact that these stories aren't being immediately vultured onto the New York Times front page with minimal or no attribution makes me suspect the latter
As a UC alum critical of UC leadership, hoping the admin stands their ground. CA is as diverse a place as any and their admissions of students in recent years simply reflects that.
The almost explicit position of these groups is that anything more than a token number of black and Hispanic students in an elite institution is de facto evidence of anti-white racial discrimination.
