I was never very happy with my original mix on this Kiffie cover I did for The End (I've gotten a lot better over the past few years). Really had to resist the urge to redo some of the vox though...
anyway, new mix posted.

Check out Spoon Hammer's contribution to the Bitume 10th anniversary CD. I think it came out really good -- got to add some proggy touches (mellotron makes everything sound better).

Just realized that these probably date me somewhat.
I'm game. Probably could have done several of these by genre, TV, OAV or movie, but I'll go with these for now.

Watched an Eno documentary and now I want to try and make some ambient music, since my prog ideas are not going anywhere at the moment.

Spoon Hammer has released a re-mixed version of the 'Songs You Can Live Without' album on Bandcamp.
The new mix cleans up the sound and is a lot more punchier with more depth. It's awesome-sauce now and you should check it out.

Happy B-day, Adrienne. This one is about you.
Check out the first song from my 'Than to Curse the Darkness' album called 'Blue Sky'. Went for a Morricone inspired vibe on this one.

I've spent more time mixing this song than I did playing/singing/recording/editing/fixing the damn thing.
But I did learn a whole bunch of new mixing techniques, so it's all good.

Appropos of nothing, it seemed prudent to re-post this today of all days. #BandcampFridays
This Friday, August 25th will see the release of 'Than To Curse the Darkness' by Spoon Hammer on Bandcamp and streaming.
The material aims to shine a light in these times of darkness. Aww, who am I kidding? Most of the songs are pretty dour, just like I meant them to be. Please enjoy my misery.

Done!
Of course the first album I listen to is an acoustic one! 😆
This is very good; stylistically I'd say it's a kind of gothic Folk. Lyrics would work in Black or DoomMetal as well. Very mellow and relaxed atmosphere.
Highly, highly recommended!
Good job @spoonhammer.bsky.social! 👍

Not familiar with the music of @spoonhammer.bsky.social yet but on their new album, I'm seeing the tags "acoustic rock", "alternative metal" and "industrial".
Sounds interesting to me!

A collection of 11 'acoustic' based songs, which is the polar opposite of the the first Spoon Hammer album from 2023 which was mostly industrial/metal/noise.

Looks like my 'acoustic' album will be out end of August. Tracks are completed and I have cover artwork.
I'd slip it out before then, but I have a vacation coming.

Well, I think I'm about ready to put a wrap on the 'acoustic' EP that I've been working on since September. 11 songs completed, so it's no longer an EP 🤣.
Just need to add bass to one track and then I can look at releasing it soon.
