Continued presence of the Western Bonelli's Warbler was certainly the highlight of the day. Hirundines in force again with 7440 Swallow and 800 House Martin out to sea. The bushes were quieter with 22 Willow, 65 Chiffchaff, 70 Blackcap, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Redstart and a Whinchat. #kentbirding

On a so-called "quiet" day at @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social Harry Appleyard (Asst Warden) guided us round a Triangle tour that saw and/or heard some superb birds and more. Barred warbler (heard) joined Caspian gull, Pied flycatcher, Whinchat, flyover Osprey not to mention Willow emerald damselfly (✔️).

Dutch-ringed Caspian Gull at Cromer on Monday. I was completely delighted that I managed to ID it myself: although I got the info about the ringing from Mark Clements! I was just happy I got it myself!! @nenbc.bsky.social Lovely light that day.

Nice to pick out this presumed 1cy Caspian Gull from among the regular flock of loafing gulls at Culverwell, Portland earlier today. As befits the time of year, it appears - to these eyes at least - to be in something of a transitional plumage state on the way to 'classic' 1st winter. #DorsetBirds
