So thanks to @paulbagguley.bsky.social can confirm that we saw at least 6 bottlenosed dolphins for over 20 mins in the Tees estuary this lunchtime. Plus countless terns, loads of guillemots and probably over 100 seals hauled up on seal sands. We got a great view of the female smew at Saltholme too.

We have a second/another brood of moorhen chicks which are mingling (makes me think second). The smaller ones approach the older birds to be fed as if they were parents but are nonplussed.

Probably our best ever day at the straits for constant migrant crossings. We had just about everything except harriers, black storks and Egyptian vultures and in big numbers. Did get 2 Merlin though which was a first! And then a lifer in a black eared wheatear at La Janda.
