So our one question is…whose interests are we talking about here??

Not only does it come with a $43 billion price tag that WE might have to pay… this pipeline will lock Canada deeper into a dying fossil fuel industry and threaten the nature and ecosystems we love, and the climate we depend on. 🫍

1/ So it’s official. Faced with a choice between whales and oil, our Prime Minister chose oil. Faced with a choice between a safe climate and more fossil fuel expansion, he chose oil again.

It's the spooky month! There's plenty of menacing threats out there to be scared of... climate change, stupid wars, rising authoritarianism and tech oligarchs. This month, however, we celebrate the goofy spoops so that we have the energy and determination to fight real monsters.

In a recent article on NYT, Frank Bruni and Bret Stephens try to situate America's chaotic present in the arch of history, whether or not America is on the decline. They conclude that Americans are "wallowing in their [their] resentments" and Trump is all too glad to encourage this self-pity.

Paul Hunter, Katie Simpson with guest Jayme Poisson provide excellent analysis of why all of us should care about how American history is written and told. These brave folks cover Canadian issues for the CBC in an administration that is hostile to journalists, Canada and the truth.

Keep the waterfront green and public!

I was born in a city which had a major airport by the waterfront (Kai Tak Airport, Hong Kong) and it was a headache for everyone. It's been demolished and replaced with a cultural/exhibition centre, much to the delight of the whole city.

Religious extremism has no place in a peaceful, open society - be it from Islam, Judaism, Christianity or any other religion. Don't send "thoughts and prayers", think about how many believers pray for violence, oppression and domination.

No. He's trying to undermine future elections.

Tenants should not have to pay an ransom in order to have their issues heard. This is a ridiculous and cruel change to the dispute process that disempowers tenants while benefiting irresponsible landlords.

To crack down on applicants who abuse the system, we need more staff and resources.
