5. But let’s be clear— listening & learning must result in TIMELY decisions for urgent crises. The tactic of always calling for “more process” is just that — a tactic. And there’s no avoiding that many of the biggest decisions facing cities WILL be initially unpopular. More process won’t avoid that.

It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

The Dodgers were supposedly a juggernaut of a team that the Jays had no chance against. Even though they ultimately won I’m not sure the team we saw in the World Series could really be described as a juggernaut.

At the park in the @cityptbo.bsky.social Hard to imagine how we will ever shift people out of cars if they can’t use public washrooms for 6 months of the year. How about we start with winterizing the ones being built at Knights of Columbus Park and then start retrofitting the rest from there.

Imagine a 100m race where we’ve given cars an 80m head start after many decades of building almost ONLY for them. If we then set a transportation goal of “balance” between many more choices in getting around, by definition we have to prioritize the new choices for a while, or they’ll never catch up.

Wow, what a spectacular lineup this is. Maschmeyer in the net, vets like Sarah Nurse and Claire Thompson and players like JenniferGardiner and Abby Boreen who just had great seasons with the Victoire. This is a team that will be right in the mix in year 1.
