Our first Rag Bag collection of the year will be on Friday 25th September. If you have any unwanted clothes or other fabric items, please pop them in a carrier or bin bag and hand them into school no later than Friday 25th September. We get money for the school for every kilogram of clothing.

Today we made the most of the lovely weather to get out into the school garden and do some much needed weeding! Some of those weeds were very strong and tough but we tried our best and had fun too.

At our first meeting we visited the school orchard to pick some of the fruit. We were amazed by the amount of apples on our trees. Some people also were lucky to find a pear.

We met to prepare what we want to share at Assembly next week for our termly update of what we have been up to. We also looked at the ideas for reducing litter made when we visited classes during Eco Week (through our placemat activity). There were super ideas! We picked a few to explore further.

A reminder that tomorrow (Friday) is our Go Green Day. The children are invited to wear something green to show their support for looking after the planet. This could be something as small as a green bobble.

Today the Eco Committee went litter picking in our local community. We visited Bellsmeadow and the skate park. Unfortunately, we found lots of litter. We did enjoy seeing some of the new artwork in the skate park, especially the fox.

Across the week, some of our Eco Committee members have been visiting classes to deliver a lesson about litter, the focus we picked for our Eco Week this year. Using a placemat activity, the children in our classes generated ideas about how we can reduce the litter in our playground even more.

Our garden clear up for Eco Week was a big success! The garden is looking even better and everyone had lots of fun. Thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to help their school. Well done! 👏🏻
