At the center of my message to faculty yesterday was: 1.) We may not be adequately prepared for how angry students are about tech. 2.) They are not all angry for the same reasons. 3.) Being angry at it doesn’t mean they aren’t using it. The sense of entrapment fuels the anger.

The news and videos out of Nepal are horrific. Climate change makes the world a more chaotic and dangerous place. Even if your home isn’t affected, you might go on holidays or to a meeting and get caught up in it. I’m particularly thinking about this as our next IPCC lead author meeting is in Nepal.

it blew my mind when I realized just how often it never occurs to many, many people in the professional world to ask these questions. it still blows my mind. how is this possible.
i swear to god, asking:
“what is the problem you are trying to solve?
followed by:
“what information or data do you need to solve this problem?”
are like, some of the single most important questions you need to ask a stakeholder on all kinds of projects, and so many people skip it
