100→110 on the 401 means most people now drive 130, not 120. That 8% speed bump costs ~14% more fuel per km (drag scales with speed²).

Individually: $15 for 21 min saved. Collectively: millions of extra litres of gas burned yearly. We're all cursing pump prices while doing this. #populist_nonsense

Every week Costco lets me know all the dishwashers, ranges, and refrigerators they have on sale. Do people actually buy a new dishwasher because it's on sale? I buy a dishwasher because the dishwasher broke and can't be repaired. At that point I go see what Consumer Reports thinks. It's just... odd.
