We also asked attitudinal questions about multilingualism and carried out a bivariate correlation test between these data and the number of languages in participants’ language repertoires.

Overall, 68 languages were reported in participants’ language repertoires. Rather than reflecting linguistic diversity in Ireland, the top languages look more like European élite multilingualism.
