Semester is starting up, I’m going through some things, & after having my 1st baby 2 years ago, I’ve been struggling to get back to posting regularly-ish/writing more/doing some Substack stuff to stay involved in the lit community. Any tips? Perspectives? Writing/life advice for balance?

Form rejections on my short stories have been hitting me hard lately. Please tell me the lack of enthusiasm about my fiction from top lit mags is not a microcosm for how it’ll go when I’m querying my novel? 😭

Honestly starting to like getting up early during my summers off because even if I bullshit around for 3-4 hours, I’ll still have most of the day ahead of me to write.

I despise RFK Jr. and his ilk. They’ve got my dad—who has high cholesterol and a stent—loading up on steak and bacon, and shunning fruits, vegetables, and nuts as “poison.” You can’t tell me that they don’t want people to die.
