Job openings are up 13%. Hires are up 2%.

400 applicants. 40 resumes read. 6 interviewed. 1 hired.

Gave a talk this week at DisruptHR: "Everyone Is Cheating Now." The recruiters laughed. Then they stopped.

Greenhouse's 2026 report: 63% of job seekers have sat through an AI interview. Only 1 in 5 believe employers use that AI responsibly. The tool got adopted faster than the trust did. Would you take an AI interview if nobody told you what it measured?

One of the ATS platforms we integrate with just started charging for API calls that used to be free. No announcement, we just noticed the dashboard looked different. Every integration you didn't build is a lease, not a purchase. Anyone else renegotiating a vendor this month?

Everyone's excited about AI agents doing recruiter work.

Almost nobody's excited about explaining what the agent decided when a regulator asks.

That gap, not the agent itself, is the actual product problem in hiring right now.

A federal judge just let the Workday AI hiring bias case keep moving.

The AI doesn't decide who gets hired. It decides who a recruiter ever sees.

If it screens you out before a human reads your name, nobody upstream knows to ask why.

The job doesn't get taken away. It just never gets posted.

Dario Amodei says half of entry-level white-collar jobs could vanish in 1 to 5 years. I wrote about what preparing actually looks like: sterlingsmith.fyi/impact

claude cowork just expanded to mobile and web. anthropic, google, openai all shipped model updates in 3 weeks.

the frontier is priced and tiered now, shipping monthly.

which release are you actually running in production?

38.5% of candidates flagged for AI-assisted interview cheating recently, up from 9% three months ago.

companies are pulling interviews back in person to dodge it. that's a retreat, not a fix.

trust scores solve what a room is a workaround for.

T-Mobile's outage today is a good reminder: redundancy is boring until the day it saves you.

every founder should know their own T-Mobile moment before it happens to them. 📡

you posted the job. 400 applied, 394 never got a real shot. the résumé that used to sort them is broken too. 500,000+ candidates evaluated on rightmatch, by a real interview, every time. one interview. seen forever. rightmatch.app

Automattic and Expensify don't require résumés anymore. ChatGPT made every résumé read the same. We bet on the interview over the résumé a year early. If résumés are dying, what replaces them at your company?
