I had decided to break with tradition and not spend all my working day at my desk in my boxers.
But I'm sticking to the chair so am gonna have to go and put some on.

Am I being over-sensitive when I say that I really don't think the EFL should actually have a "Whiskey Partner" let alone run competitions to win free alcoholic drinks.
Especially when many clubs are a conduit for community activities to address local health and social issues.

Blackpool Council by-election:
This is a significant result. Reform were considered the main challengers. Butcher himself got 28% in a recent parliamentary by election.
The ward in question is considered deprived. He had promised to open a Reform pub with cheap beer.
If Reform can't win here...

Good news!
He lost!

In one of the supposedly most deprived wards in the country.

On National Poetry Day, here’s a short poem about the power of poetry to change the world.

According to documents from the time, I apparently went to Oktoberfest in Munich about thirty years ago.

Junior has a free day today. He's just got dressed, wearing his Revolution coaster t-shirt, his Big One coaster hoody and the joggers with zip pockets that keep his phone secure when he's at a theme park.
I think he's planning on going for a nice quiet coffee with his mum...

Burnham as PM is like your wife redecorating your house. Some of it is wonderful. Some of it is just ok. Some of it is horrible and you'll have to put up with it. But the overall result is a significant improvement to how it was, and the bits you don't like you can always change later.
October 1, 2026 at 10:42 AM
Burnham is clever. He knows he has to draw in as many people as he can, so on things like Brexit he has to simplify and maybe slighly distort certain things to get less-informed people onboard.
Don't get worked up on the intricacies of stuff he says, as long as we're heading in the right direction.

Hawkward.
this gaffe should follow Eric Schmitt around for the rest of his political life

(Jack Smith was actually in Maryland at a HAWKEYES game, not in Atlanta colluding with Fani Willis as Schmitt alleged)

Just got my new specs. Expensive compared to what I usually spend, but I went for the thinnest lightest lenses, and they’re ridiculously good.
And I used my local independent optician, so I’ve supported a local business, and despite being expensive, they’d have been much more at one of the chains.

Hmm. I had redeemed a free 12 months @getskyscraper.com but it seems to have disappeared.
Having said that, the non-pro version still does just about all the stuff I really want that’s missing from the main Bluesky app.

Thing with this Fairford stuff is that yes they were British, but until their ethnicity is released, it's still a potential for weaponisation by the right.
