How very 1984 of Nigel.
"That defence is ridiculous!"

@mrjamesob.bsky.social is not impressed by Nigel Farage's excuse for the donations sting.

Fantastic journalism from Channel 4 tonight, surely this is the beginning of the end for Farage and reform, or are their fans too ignorant?

Next time Richard 'stupid' Tice tries to tell you that net zero causes energy prices to be high, show him this. We are currently paying through the nose for electric thanks to a spike in gas wholesale prices. Marginal pricing needs scrapping

Andy will be the last chance for the centre ground to fix Britain, otherwise we will have an extreme reform government. The Tories I can sleep at night with, reform I cannot. It's scary how many people don't understand what their policies will do.

"He's not the messiah!"

Andy Burnham is heckled as he's sworn in as an MP.

It's sad to see Clarkson has cancer, for me personally he has been an inspiration, his shows made me go into the car industry. I disagree with him politically but he's inspired millions and his farming show is much better than country file. He's also a dad and grandad, I wish him a full recovery.

Correction, our GDP per capita per year is higher than France BUT purely because of the amount of hours we work extra.
May 24, 2026 at 8:19 AM
And how do we fix productivity? We need investment in machinery, tools and training, and more youngsters going into manual jobs. Our factories are falling apart in many parts of the UK due to lack of investment. Reform are economically illiterate. They don't understand productivity and utilisation.
May 24, 2026 at 8:01 AM
Following on from my last post, the only reason our GDP per capita per year is similar to France is because we work more hours, if we worked the same it would be much lower. Our workers produce much less value per hour than our European counterparts. Reform think more hours will solve it, it won't.
May 24, 2026 at 7:59 AM
So Farage is to announce tax free overtime today and removal of WTA (working time arrangement). He clearly doesn't understand productivity, the UK already works more hours than France, Germany and Italy, yet per hour GDP per capita we lag behind France and Germany and per year is also poor

This is a brilliant read so far

Your book is a great read by the way, I read quite a bit of it on Friday in the reform voting town of Redditch in their library. So many true words.

I'm a labour person but I'm so pleased for Hannah, the politics of hate has been defeated. Hannah really connects well with me as a working class person who also does a manual job. We need more people in labour from her background and less lawyers

Jesus the cranks are wide awake this morning. Reform leader of Wales is in jail and they’re wanking themselves into a stupor over their endless hatred of Starmer and how much they can’t wait to see a far right government.

Tedious fucking people.

As a father of 3 I find what has been happening in Gaza absolutely awful, innocent children and mothers being bombed. I welcome Trump's ceasefire deal if it holds. There needs to be a safe Israel and a safe Palestinian state who work together for the greater good of the region and its people.

I spotted a Palestine protest in Worcester yesterday, which was then broken up by the police.I couldn't resist asking two of the protesters if they had woken up the thought police. They were getting abuse from shoppers calling them names. If only the shopper knew how lucky we were that we can protest

I really didn't agree with most things Charlie Kirk stood for as a left leaning person. However he did not deserve to be assassinated out of cold blood just because someone didn't agree with his views. That is a dangerous path to go down in a democratic society.

With all this debate if wealth taxes work or not, how about this for a fresh idea, we all come up with an international agreement where all countries agree to have a wealth tax and exit taxes for those who try to exit countries signed up to it. Surely this is the way forward for a fairer society?

@mrjamesob.bsky.social have you noticed all the right wingers talking about Lucy Connelly and freedom of speech have gone very quiet when just stop oil protesters get jailed?

Extremely disheartened at the council election results in Worcester, and extremely worried about the future with reform UK surging. But that is democracy, and we move on. I hope that we can now listen and put things right so that we can win voters back in the future.
