I do quality over quantity on Bluesky and having an even slower follow climb than I did on Twitter. Please recommend me and my amusing posts to get my numbers up. Many thanks in advance ☺️
Little known Nottingham fact, all of ITV's sitcom output in the 70s was written down this one street.

Morecambe and Wise would have been ideal guests on The Muppet Show. TV savvy but also true to the show's music hall/vaudeville ethos, and well known in America (more so than Brucie and Spike Milligan who appeared), even thought Grade didn't interfere he could have suggested them to Jim Henson.
Happy 50th Anniversary to The Muppet Show! Jim Henson's groundbreaking puppet variety show began airing on the United Kingdom's ATV Network on this date in 1976 ahead of its US debut later that month.

It is Bandcamp Friday and there are still people claiming to be David Bowie fans/completists who haven't downloaded the audiobook Bowie Day. Pay what you like, whether it's £1 or £1million today's the day.

Thanks in advance

Reminding myself that Ricky Gervais used to be able to write comedy (or co-write obviously).

This morning, on seeing this post, I found a full episode on YouTube. As much as I admire Chris Evans, this made me dizzy and I gave up after five minutes.
TV Mayhem - TV-am-sponsored prehistoric Big Breakfast ancestry as a pre-fame Chris Evans tries to prop up an ailing TV-am with his own invariably self-centric brand of Saturday Morning on-screen anarchy. They lost their ITV franchise shortly afterwards.

I remember Richard Herring once saying in an interview that Channel 4 would pay Ricky Gervais if he filmed himself shitting in a bowl. Having just seen the trailer for Alley Cats, substitute Channel 4 for Netflix and this prophecy has come true.

Of course I will be watching Ebenezer later this year for completist reasons, but this short film already does the back story.

Sam Smith’s pubs:

Pint of Guinness please.

We don't sell Guinness but we have something the same colour and there the resemblance ends.

Agreed. If he'd had a better chance on the big screen then Rik Mayall could have been a bigger movie comedian than Chaplin or Sellers combined.
Currently watching this.

By God, that man was *electric*.

I heard a rumour my ex-wife passed away, I know you shouldn't wish such things...
Today's date triggers PTSD as it used to be my wedding anniversary. Luckily I escaped and reclaimed my life but other domestic abuse victims aren't so fortunate, it can happen to men too so rather than taking the piss for being 'under the thumb' see if you can help.

On what would have been Eric Morecambe's 100th birthday, one of the best lines ever delivered, I still use it at every opportunity.

Has Channel 4 put money in to TFI Unplugged or have they got an hour that hasn't cost them anything given they are basically pumping out a youtube video?

Still a couple of hours left if you still want to call yourself a David Bowie fan ⏬️
It's Bandcamp Friday, please pay whatever you can for my audiobook Bowie Day because you can't call yourself a David Bowie completist without it. In fact, are you even a Bowie fan without it?

Every pound helps so thank you in advance ☺️
