Today I spoke with Mitch McConnell - he disagreed with me about Sony’s decision to revoke consumer rights of ownership by killing physical media… but he did agree that the current swath of Xbox cuts has more to do with gross overspending and mismanagement on Phil Spencer’s watch.

I bought my first PlayStation in January of 1998. By December of ‘98 I was all into the lovely world of video game retail. With the tone deaf week Sony has had, it feels like I’m there at the end as well.

Bummed to hear that Spiders and Cyanide studios have both filed for insolvency. With Piranha Bytes already gone - there ain’t much left in that AA RPG space out of Europe.

So that may have been the weirdest launch day I’ve ever seen for a piece of physical software. And yet, after three or so hours - I’m loving this one. I also fully understand the mixed (generally positive) reviews. #crimsondesert

So, real talk, I just finished Tristan’s companion quest line in The Outer Worlds 2. He went from a bland sidekick I could ignore to one of the all time great companions - that’s some DAMN FINE writing, @obsidianent.bsky.social. BRAVO!

Ok, I’m actually really digging this one. Is it technically astounding? Nope. Is it the worst game this year? Also nope. It IS an action adventure with story and characters that feel ripped right off of a lost PS3 hard drive - I mean that in the best way possible. #videogames, #mindseye
