WAR CRIME BY THE US.

An unarmed Iranian ship was takIng part in an Indian naval exercise, alongside the US.

The US withdrew and torpedoed the Iranian ship.

THEN the US refused to rescue the sailors, letting them drown.

This is treachery, cowardice, cruelty and a war crime of the highest order.

The new leasehold legislation as an exemplar of our bent media/political ecosystem: important & entirely in tune with Labour values + already under attack from the right-wing papers = something really good largely under appreciated by the rest of us. Oh and pubs. Lovely pubs.

Trump on NATO:

"The problem with NATO is that we'll be there for them 100% but I'm not sure that they'd be there for us, if we gave them the call".

We did get the call on 9/11. 26 NATO members sent troops to defend the US. Hundreds died doing so. It was the only time Article 5 has been activated.

Hard to believe this is happening right now. Entire cities being massacred.
The initial death toll of the massacres in El Fasher, Sudan by the UAE backed RSF terrorists is now at 2,000 according to local sources. Satellite imagery spotted massive stains of blood all over the city. At least 80,000 people are still unaccounted for. #Sudan_War_Updates

Israeli supporters trying to use the massacres in Sudan to wash their hands of their own complicity in the genocide in Gaza, you can stop. Israel is ending the ceasefire, you can go back to defending that mass murder. At least 100 people were killed by Israel since the ceasefire begun.

What would Jesus do? Get pepper sprayed like the rest of us, standing up to oppression.
I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

If you shop at Waitrose you can find my article on the history of pubs in the October edition of their magazine, which is out now. It won't be online, so if you fancy a few quail eggs, or perhaps a rosemary and potato sourdough loaf, consider grabbing the mag for a gander while you're in.
