Not me being mad the first reference in text on a paper is 22. How does that make sense? Order of appearance is superior #physio #physicaltherapy #science

I always use this idea of the Goldilocks zone with patients. We want to find the spot that’s just right where we are pushing into a challenge but it’s not producing excessive symptoms fear/anxiety but isn’t so easy it feels like a cake walk.

Some of the patients beliefs were somewhat true about the effects of manual therapy. It can produce some changes in circulation, feelings of relaxation, improved mobility due to perceptions. #physio #spt #physicaltherapy #studentphysicaltherapist #medicine

So here is the thing. It’s good to ask people between sessions if they have new or worsening symptoms and to be specific about what those are.

First question would you prefer something like this to just be a longer video or a text carousel?
Also please ask questions in the comments and I’ll be happy to elaborate further to help you with application and how I reason through this sort of thing.

Going to try to be more active here again. I spent over 10 years growing out an audience on Instagram but it appears to be dying off now

I think there are lots of opportunities for physios to incorporate more CBT strategies into treatment with patients. And remember it’s always going to be a spectrum of how far you push into those principles. Not everyone needs as much support #physio #physicaltherapy

Lots of issues with the idea of core stability. One of the things is that muscle timing change and co contraction increase with lower back pain, this then leads to the "tests" used to detect core stability being positive.

While there is a small amount of data about this, there does seem to be benefits. If someone can train at longer lengths it seems to improve growth, and strength #fitness #physicaltherapy #physio #physiotherapy #health #wellness

Not exactly a novel idea but why aren't we in rehab paying more attention to the use of exercises at longer muscle lengths? #physio #fitness #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #medicine

Always weird to see people with extremity issues in the clinic and a therapist hands them the same weight for both sides. #physicaltherapy #physiotherapy

It's always hard when our medical system lacks cohesive messaging and understanding of persistent pain issues.
