We, or at least I, spoke to this very point earlier in the season. New stories with your old toys don't destroy the memories that you had with those old toys.

People that truly love Trek, the way that you & so many of my friends do, are truly some of the most compassionate, empathy filled humans I have ever met. They believe in the best versions of who we can be as a species. It's quite heartening when you see the performers embody those traits as well! 🖖🏿

I'm not sure if I'd give it that much grace. As a pilot movie for a sci-fi action series, yes. But for a Star Trek series, heck nah! There was so very little Trek in there that it almost felt like someone got these characters but the accompanying style guide got corrupted & they made up the rest.
