Next week, LA punk legend, Alice Bag, will be calling it a day on the long running Alice Bag Band. They have two shows remaining (SF & LA), and that’ll be it. Back in 2013, when her memoir Violence Girl was published, Alice was kind enough to contribute a playlist to my blog.

From around 1985, or 86, Creation Records was, by far, my favorite record label. In 1993, when they opened a satellite office in NYC under the watchful eye of Jesus & Mary Chain and Saint Etienne manager, Jerry Jaffe, I interviewed and got the gig.

Thinking of Joe Strummer on his birthday. This photo (me, Strummer, Howie Pyro & Joey Ramone) was taken many years ago in front of the Niagara Bar in the East Village. I think Joe had played Irving Plaza that night, and I probably DJ’d. It’s weird that I’m the only one still alive.
