I was RIGHT (and a little bit wrong).
Kaladin didn't duel a shardbearer. But he DID kill a shardbearer in open combat and rightfully had a claim to the Shardblade and Shardplate.
I just didn't anticipate Kaladin going "Nah. I don't want to be a LIGHTEYES. Fuck those guys!"

I am re-watching Red Dwarf.
I first came across Red Dwarf when I was like 10. I am 40. 30 years of knowing of Red Dwarf's existence.
And JUST TODAY did I realize that Cat - descendant of Lister's pet cat - is portrayed as self-absorbed and skittish... because those are stereotypically Cat traits.

I am re-watching Red Dwarf.

Weeks of trying to fix: uninstalling and reinstalling, searching google and reddit, switching to Legacy Outlook and back, etc. Nothing helped.

I’m 36% of the way through the Way of Kings and I just want to forget everything that is happening NOW and move the action permanently to the past in Dalinar’s vision when Knights Radiant descended from the sky like falling stars to fight dark creatures and save villagers.
Ok. I'm still so very overwhelmed by the things I don't understand about the world that Brando Sando has created.
Oathstones and shardplate and shardblades and High Princes and the entire Kholin family (I need a family tree!).
But, something clicked. It got very interesting to me in Chapter 11.

I've never read a Brandon Sanderson book. I tried to start one a few times, but dropped off quickly because my silly little short attention span couldn't focus long enough to digest Brandon Sanderson's robust world building.
