I can also see them hanging a lot on the basis of both of them being (former) bhaalspawn. Probably only Astarion himself comes close to the understanding what having been under Bhaal's control and inside the cult was like and they'd be able to help each other with working through it lol

I know Aunrae is very knowledgable about blades and Azenrius is a sword bard who actually does have a small collection of pretty daggers (as well as keeping some short swords), but he's not an expert on them. Aunrae could probably get him some AMAZING blades with the most gorgeous decorations

I'm sure her Astarion wouldn't mind the help, as he's probably quite busy building his influence and power - and it might be such a nice surprise for him to see his darling Aunrae all pretty for him and possibly with a nice surprise underneath for later 😌
