Yet somehow, those same fans are willing to view a character who has repeatedly shown himself to be ruthless and sadistic as some kind of savior.

But Lilith saw it as betrayal. She had spent years peacefully fighting for demonkind, only for her own husband to give Heaven permission to slaughter part of the population she had inspired. It broke her heart in a way she could not forgive.

In Lucifer’s mind, it was a terrible compromise. He couldn’t stop Heaven entirely, but he could protect his family and the Hellborn while preventing an all-out war.

Lucifer knew what Heaven was capable of and feared Lilith’s movement would lead to a war Hell couldn’t survive. So when Heaven proposed yearly Exterminations, he agreed behind her back—but ensured Hellborn were spared, leaving the Exorcists to target sinners instead.

Charlie and Lucifer both miss her dearly, but they couldn’t disagree more on how to bring her back.

Charlie believes peace is the answer. She hopes building trust between Heaven and Hell will one day bring her mother home without more bloodshed.

I took some inspiration from that one scene in The Odyssey, but with a twist.

I’ve always liked the theory that Lilith is a prisoner in Heaven. Though Heaven and Hell work together, Heaven still sees her as a threat and won’t let her return home.

Charlie looks up to her mom and wants to be like her.
Lucifer is still completely in love—he misses her and will happily tell anyone who’ll listen.
If Lilith were really that awful, wouldn’t they be trying to forget her instead of missing her?
