It's hard to believe that a President would time an illegal military attack, killing civilians, to distract the public's attention...but today is the statutory deadline for the DOJ to release its report on the Epstein Files. Coincidence?

Bombing another country and kidnapping its leader would also be wrong with Congressional approval. The outrage, and call for impeachment, should be over the evil and illegal outcome not merely the failure to follow the prescribed process.

Trump says the U.S. will run Venezuela. Not the V.P., not the winner of an election. He admits it is for oil. Watch for the rush to divide the spoils by trump’s billionaire buddies and his tech bros, as well as any who can pay for play.

These are Orwellian times, when the “Department of Education” is working to dismantle public education and people in a public office won’t communicate with journalists or the public.
“You are not entitled to a response from us, or anyone, ever,” Department of Education spokesperson Madison Biedermann wrote after our reporter repeatedly asked agency officials for comment to ensure fairness and accuracy.
Our Reporters Reached Out for Comment. They Were Accused of Stalking and Intimidation.
Our journalists reach out to people they’re writing about to ensure fairness. But in this environment, they’ve found their efforts to do so are more likely to be vilified than appreciated.

1/5 Here’s a crazy story of how a Russian Christmas controversy almost triggered World War III in 1947. I was a historian in the 1990s & my memory may be a little off, but not by much. It revolves around codebreaking. US intelligence intercepted Soviet messages indicating some sort rebellion.

I’m sure we don’t need climate research or weather reporting
Here's our reporting on the proposed dismantling of the jewel of US atmospheric science, @ncar-ucar.bsky.social.

The plan is to break NCAR apart and disburse some parts to other locations (like the research aircraft fleet) and eliminate others.

We’re now at the point where CIA torture techniques are used against citizens.

Whatever we let our military do to citizens abroad can be done to citizens at home.
They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.
Torture Techniques from CIA Black Sites Were Used at Alligator Alcatraz
Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison
