what is the point in posting this
Ben. You don’t speak for Democratic voters. If you did, I wouldn’t have prevailed in my June primary over an opponent you were strongly backing (he got 15% of the vote).

Democratic voters are pro-Israel and pro-peace. As are Moskowitz and I. (1/2)

i swear nobody on this website knows what the DNC actually does

they’re simply not strongarming gubernatorial candidates in Wisconsin! They don’t have the time or resources for that!

You’re going to want to point the finger at state-level power brokers in WI, like the Governor’s endorsement 1/2

Everyone coming on my feed and explaining to me that all is lost, I note what I have noted before, that there are no Negro Spirituals entitled, “Welp, I Guess It All Sucks and I Am Giving Up.”

the replies here insisting that bluesky is inherently intellectually superior to threads are throwing me for a loop

like I see the same “heads MUST roll” behavior from blueskiers here on a weekly basis

I’m not the only one who remembers the incredibly recent “NFL Wife” saga, am I?

"...Maher referenced famous names who had inspired him.

He cited Toto.

The audience responded with silence and puzzlement.

Maher explained he was referring to Dorothy's dog in the Wizard of Oz.

'That's because Toto pulls back the curtain and exposes who is phony,' Maher said."

I, too, am still unbelievably salty that amendment passed with broad Democratic support.
BTW, if you supported the "bipartisan" redistricting commission back in 2020, that wasn't smart by any means, but everyone makes (bad) mistakes, right? After the commission failed, though, as some of us (raises hand!) predicted it would, if you STILL support it to this day, just WTF???

I climbed down into the 12-story underground pumping station at the heart of RiverRenew — no elevator yet, so it was all stairs. Here's what AlexRenew has built ahead of its July 1 launch, and what it means for Alexandria's rivers.

I read this and immediately sent over a donation. Good reporting is expensive!
Seven months running The Alexandria Brief, so I opened the books. What readers contributed, what it actually costs, the hours, and the honest reason I haven't hired freelancers yet.

No spin. Here it is: www.alexandriabrief.com/publishers-n...

If he ever spent time in North Carolina perhaps he'd know.

i just don’t think this is something you respond to on the merits

bad faith attacks simply don’t deserve good faith arguments in response
as much as i appreciate the democrats responding with vigor for once, the fact that republicans are using "transgender" as a slur for a political candidate is fucking horrifying and dems need to quickly figure out a way to address it head on. calling stephen miller ugly isn't a long-term fix.

lol what
It's hard to avoid the conclusion that Bluesky has been a net negative for US politics. They corralled everyone on the left into a little glass fishbowl where they shout at one another & everyone else ignores them. Meanwhile, all the pols & institutions stayed on X & are being dragged farther right.

Given the argument that ended the VRA, I think it’s time liberals did some self reflection about the now decades long obsession with partisan polarization as the problem, as opposed to authoritarianism, extremism, oligarchy, and racism

more people should just look things up.

you know, like we used to do before 2023?
Regular googling would yield you more consistent results than trying to get claude to do math based on various sources I think

I know, right? SO UNFAIR.

Refusing to learn new words is a form of *mental* (derived from the Latin word for "mind) *suicide* (sui- self, cide, to kill)
But "uxor" is Latin; it's just unfair to expect English speakers to learn to pronounce words derived from Latin
