It's hypocrisy to everyone else, but it's just hierarchy to them. The little private peccadilloes of the "ruling class" types are exactly the things they'd criminalize people outside their social strata for doing. Because they can. That's it. Rules for thee, not for me. Simple as.

"Some Bad Things" would be an excellent title for an Ai themed horror movie.

A Democratic Party that refused to use its power to deliver for the working class ended up being a delivery system for Trump. If Democrats win power and once again do the same thing, they will be a delivery system for an even worse version of Trump - pass it on.

The contempt these people have for everything wondrous and good and *human* is so grotesque.

This is actually a good story by the New York Times' Peter Baker. But as usual, the editors ran it through their Euphemism Desk so the headline talks about Trump "moving ethical lines" instead of saying flat-out that the president is deeply corrupt and is putting your money in his pocket.

The president’s decision to hold an international summit at his own private golf club, an idea rejected in his first term, illustrates how much he has shattered norms.
