I know it is another ceiling pic, but the reading room at The Maughan Library is awesome.
The room has a dodecagonal shape and rises through three tiers of cast-iron galleries. A striking, shallow glass-and-iron dome caps the space, flooding the desks below with natural light.

200 year old collection box.
Following the dissolution of the monasteries in the 1530s, which previously looked after those in need, the Poor Laws were passed mandating that parishes and hospitals had collections for the poor like this box here - although this is not as old as that!

Yesterday we had the City of London Police call post. Today, this is a replica of the Metropolitan Police Watchbox.

This is a City of London Police Call Post - one of only 8 that survive on the streets of London today - now Grade II listed.

Beneath the Guildhall Great Hall lie the largest surviving medieval crypts in London.
They were built at different times and are different styles. The west crypt (2nd pic) is thought to be from the late 13th Century so older than the current 15th Century hall above it.

The Caledonian Park Clock Tower, or Cally Clock Tower, was built as the centrepiece of the Metropolitan Cattle Market, which opened in 1855 as London's live meat market from Smithfield - even meat markets were designed to be beautiful in the Victorian era!

Today is the anniversary of the Great Fire of London, which started on 2nd Sept 1666.
10 years ago, I volunteered at a 350 year event which traced the path of the fire in a giant domino rally - with over 23,000 giant concrete dominos! It went through churches, up and down stairs etc

I got Wordle in 1 today!
Yes, I still do Wordle on my laptop each morning when I'm home. It's a small ritual before the day gets messy - 5 minutes of a puzzle before the inbox takes over. A cognitive warm-up with a micro-win to start the day.
After 4 years with the same starter word it came up!
