Parody account?

Weather looks about the same.

Pffft. I have no issue with a penalty. Consistency would be nice.
July 6, 2025 at 11:40 PM
Did you applaud the stewards as well?
July 6, 2025 at 4:22 PM
Yep and I respect them, too. The problem for Vince is that his masthead can’t figure out if it’s pro- or anti-football. All old media verticals have skin in one of the games and this skews the editorial choices. If Nine wins EPL rights, it will be hard to see them ever covering A-L again.
June 27, 2025 at 9:08 AM
Me too. Just stating what I saw. You’re the only media voice actually analysing a game of football, though. Most coverage continues to be akin to a music festival overview. Flowers in the hair and how wonderful everything is.

Inability to maintain possession and apply consistent pressure: The Australian Way, regardless of gender. We were lucky they had absolutely nothing in the final third.
June 27, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Could’ve been … what? No cash, an inexperienced squad and a change of owners. Stanton probably did as well as could’ve been expected.
June 24, 2025 at 7:59 AM
“Worst Aussies”. We’ll see.
June 21, 2025 at 5:07 AM
Well balanced piece Joey. The challenge of creating a viable B-League shows the reality that many Australian fans simply miss. Every national league, regardless of code, has a number of basket-case clubs because there simply isn’t the money to go around. This is the context.
June 21, 2025 at 5:01 AM
Agree on all this. Portsmouth shows that the playing/training load for Australian players is a major challenge, opening them to injury. Hopefully he gets a pre-season that averts this.
June 20, 2025 at 3:08 AM
No argument from me, although is the ceiling you’re referring to grassroots or professional? Either way, the issue remains: Where does the money come from? Because taking it from one to feed the other isn’t a growth mindset. The game seems stuck on this.
June 17, 2025 at 4:51 AM
Perhaps start with a fully rounded statement then you don’t need to do this back and forth.
June 17, 2025 at 12:02 AM
The “problem” has always been the “problem” for football in this country: Not enough finance in the system. The prevailing argument seems to be to take $ away from men’s and channel it to women’s to make things better. It won’t. Better funding across the board will.
June 16, 2025 at 11:51 PM
Okay so let’s say you’re the CFO at AU. What’s your plan? Revenue vs costs. Sponsorship vs player and staff payments. Where do you go? How do you balance the part of the club that at this time drives most earnings, vs the promise? Given AU’s finances? Interested to hear.

Bit of a leap. Have you spoken with him? Do you know his motivation?
June 16, 2025 at 9:18 PM
As they say, coach like you’ll be there forever but don’t buy a house in the area…
June 13, 2025 at 8:39 AM
Watching those ‘best goals’ compilations is almost numbing. You become so accustomed to his liberally sprinkled acts of genius that in the end it feels like this is the way all players play.
There will be others who eclipse his achievements but none who do it the way he does.
June 12, 2025 at 11:39 PM
Agree Ben. We just can’t seem to get results and aesthetics at the same time. Having said that, Poppa has that bit of Mourinho about him - only the result counts. And he can’t be faulted on that.
June 10, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Simply cannot afford to play this one in and around our box, Joey. The Saudis will be looking for every free, yellow and induced red they can conjure. Pressure on the ref will be enormous.
June 10, 2025 at 8:59 AM
Instant impact followed by injuries. All you’re presenting are stats, not insights.
June 7, 2025 at 1:47 AM
Vince, I wonder again: In a team bereft of technical players, against arguably the world’s most technical team, why bench Caceres? Every time he plays Japanese teams, he’s on par. Okay, there’s more to it, but we’ll never change how we play if we don’t pick players who can play that different way.
June 5, 2025 at 11:19 PM
Hang on. He gets another go?
May 26, 2025 at 9:38 AM
Even after a relatively poor weekend, Piastri on the podium. This is how championships are won.

Over thinking it. Most crappy sites these tryhards connect to rely solely on traffic for $. So, the more salacious the headline, the more clicks. Not connected to actual journalism in any way.
