Let me be clear: I despise Jacob Rees-Mogg. I would still prefer he take the right side on this, because I am not a big baby and as someone with a child with some who immigrated to the UK, I have a personal stake in people of mixed origin not being othered.

Net zero was political consensus, now it isn't. It has become somewhat less popular as the right has turned against it, but support is still strong. So dismissing the role of the right, including the media, seems parti pris at best.

The RNLI rescued Luftwaffe pilots in WW2 because the organisation is there to 'save life at sea' - it's something to be immensely proud of.
