I research the intersection of emerging technologies (e.g., AI) and legal issues.
If people would like to get a fresh take on AI, I also highly recommend the following two Japanese anime series: Psycho-Pass and Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song.

I might do a quick, mini write up on those two series, but one word of warning, there are significant depicted violence in both titles.
Great movie list from @nitafarahany.bsky.social who aptly notes the movies put “risks we are facing in the hardware and software, but underlying it all is the choices that we make.” Agreed. The biggest danger we face is not tech but the humans creating and using tech. substack.com/home/post/p-...

Regarding the petition for rehearing in the Carroll v. Trump case —

I wrote a short piece about the practical and theoretical aspects of rehearing after denial of certiorari some years back.

Every summer I repost this article on how to spot drowning. Please read it and pass on. In the last few years I’ve had SIX messages from people who saved a kid’s life after clicking on the link from my feed.

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning
Drowning is not the violent, splashing call for help that most people expect.

Having deadlines to having to return e-books back to the library is one of the best accountability mechanisms to ensure that I actually read and finish borrowed books.

I am too scared to look at computer parts prices. This is worse than the crypto mining crisis we had a few years ago.

Just finished the PRAGMATA Sketchbook demo on my Steam Deck. Great sound design and absolutely brain teasing game mechanics. Looking forward to the full game in April!

Random post about gaming. The ONLY reason I was ever going to purchase a PS5 was due to the anticipated release of Capcom's game "PRAGMATA". Now we know that the game runs both on Steam (PC) and the Switch 2, my sole reason for buying the PS5 disappeared. Looking forward to playing on my Steam Deck!
