Got a touch annoyed today at work. Found out the new phonics program that was supposed to start next year will be rolled out in around four weeks, just after the term break ends. All good except the resource packs for the program haven't been made, nor have they been given to me to catalogue.

I'm rewatching SDC3 from the beginning again. It always hits me how hurt and disappointed Yibo was with the initial vote. Even after all these years I think they did him dirty, deliberately making him last place.

Today's a day off for my entire site (bonus, it's a paid day off), and instead of having a sleep in, I opted to do several loads of laundry as it's a glorious spring day. I've been waiting ages for the right weather to wash the blanket from my bed. Showing my age as I'm so happy it's finally done 😂

No, I remember him as a very frightening man, the kind that wouldn't have given a shit he was on camera if he took a dislike to you.

15 minutes for the ambulance to arrive because the ambo was sleeping. 15 minutes after a serious crash and a car fire. The lack of care from the top down is absolutely deplorable.

Protect the drivers and their crews.

Cancel the China GT.
@cjzero.bsky.social @edsbs.bsky.social sorry if already seen/discussed but @rjcc.bsky.social sent me this thread about the China GT and...damn

I have an iPod Classic that I use regularly for listening to audiobooks and podfic at night, usually when I can't sleep. This week it's been playing up and I now have to accept the battery in it is dying. I can't complain, I've had it for about 20 years, but I am sad at the thought of replacing it.

Finally a weekend where I can relax and stop being a stress-head about work. Last few weeks were big library events; Book Week and Premier's Reading Challenge finishing. Wasn't until the day of Book Week that the last book I needed for the collection finally arrived (I'd ordered back in July)

In case anyone needs it, to have the ‘mubble-fubbles’ (16th century) means to have a fit of despondency or low spirits, such as the end-of-summer blues.

That imagery of the Himalayan tsunami smashing into the multi-story building in Nepal was horrifying, but then murder always is, isn’t it? That’s what happened at that border crossing: mass murder

It has been a day, starting with waking up at 4:30am for no reason, and laying there until my alarm went off. That was a highlight in hindsight.

Week six of this stupid, irritating cough that is taking it's sweet time to go away. Starting to think I've had a RSV infection despite not having the associated fever that is part of the symptoms.

I’m tending plants, seems like a good deal to me.

(Fortunately the last game I played was Viridi and not one of the many puzzle games I own.)
You're offered $250,000,000 but to claim it you must enter the last video game you've played and stay there for a full year.

How are y'all faring in this deal?

I was interested based on the trailer but if I have to watch something to make what should be a standalone make sense, then I'm out. I'm too tired and too time poor for this amount of effort.

Accurate and to the point. If data centres are a drain on resources and add nothing to the community where they have or are likely to be built then governments need to get off the FOMO train.
The Government™ has made an ad about Ai Data Centres, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative.

Had a massive thunderstorm roll in this afternoon as I was coming home on the bus. The road was flooded, the creek next to the bus stop had broken its banks, rising about two metres making the council's new retaining wall to prevent the adjacent properties from flooding worth every cent.

As anyone in publishing will tell you, women do not resist reading books by men, but men will often dismiss books by women. This is not a publishing problem or a failure to target men. It's a misogyny problem.

If the AI tools ceased to be *right now* I could still do my job without question. I don't use AI, not even in the programs where it has been crowbarred in. fwiw AI could not do my job in any capacity as it requires face to face interactions for accurate evaluations and responses.
My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain)

The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.
