People don't find videogames with the souls of their previous owner trapped inside and tormenting the players anymore
This is because videogames have gone largely digital now

Still very fond of this doomguy pic I did a few years ago. It's using the actual Doom palette, too

I hate the "I'm not a chef, but I can tell you if your food is shit" school of game critique because half the time the food is perfectly fine. You're just unhappy that the alfredo fettuccine doesn't have tomato sauce. Get out of my restaurant.

Because it's a trend right now, may as well say it here. I have literally never once regretted buying a video game. And believe me, I have bought some stinkers.

One day I'll find someone who makes a Legend of Legaia-alike and I will swear fealty to them like an ancient knight.
I like the concept of "retro" indie RPGs as much as the next guy, but why is it that they're inspired by the same three games (Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, FFVI) 99% of the time?
Give me something more out there. Something more Bahamut Lagoon or Tactics Ogre.

I want simpler anime with worse animation made by human artists who are paid more to work less and I'm not joking.

None of the song names on the Gotcha Force soundtrack are official. I was asked to name the tracks by the very talented and friendly ripper Capcom Lord. I was confused, but flattered, so I did.
I should have said no, because to this day, people still use them. I am responsible for misinformation.

i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago
so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead

I think you should force yourself to interact with art that's "bad" every so often. read a cringy fanfic. play a tiny game. watch a subpar movie. see an amateur play. experience art that's not "masterpieces" because "bad" art deserves to exist and can sometimes give you more emotion than "good" art
