In Memoriam: John Yonazi Salehe (1954–2026)
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of TFCG Chairperson John Yonazi Salehe on 19 June 2026, aged 71.
A member since 1994 and Chair since 2012, John was a distinguished leader in East African conservation.
Our heartfelt condolences to his family.

TFCG's Eco-School programme which emphasises education on environmental sustainability has a wide range of positive effects, as shown by a recent research article (linked below). The government must scale-up implementation of eco-schools for a more sustainable Tanzania 🌱🌍

TFCG is the eco-school partner for Tanzania and we work in partnership with schools across the country to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. We are proud to say that last year 101,132 students across Tanzania benefited from environmental education and micro-projects🌿🌍 #Ecoschools
