Ahhh well, I saw what chemo, cancer and facing death in the eyes can do to a person. My uncle who was living with us at the time and dying of cancer became very angry and lashed out at everyone. Of course nobody held it against him but there was a grain of that experience there

The trope I do like is when their loved one is bitten or turned and they can’t process it and can’t let go. Gets me every time because I think of the symbolism of terminal illness and also my own family

News drums up interest in Xbox, in their ecosystem and their pool of developers. That’s good for them and good for the industry. And by supporting a studio like KojiPro, it keeps them employed as well. Both realities can exist alongside each other. It’s not a black and white situation

But you’re talking about an established developer with an extremely positive track record and a legacy that extends back 30 plus years. It doesn’t undo the layoffs, but if we developers to keep their jobs at Xbox, we can’t be undermining every decision they make. A positive reaction to this

Again, I’m not going to try to convince anyone that Xbox management are all these saints trying to save video games, but I think it’s also good to recognize when they do something helpful to the industry as much as pointing when they harm it

And look, I’m not a fan of how Microsoft is handling Xbox, I think they layoffs are especially heinous and Asha is far too complicit with Satya’s bloodletting, but claiming they’re on this streak of cancelling games just isn’t true, or at least it hasn’t been true during her tenure.

Tango wasn’t closed. Weren’t the other two studios like a year or two ago? The studio gutting was awful for sure, but they aren’t cancelling any other announced projects. For as much awful that Microsoft has done to Xbox, there’s still alot of good stuff coming out of Xbox
