Life's eaten me away, but while I'm working on a new comic, here's an old fave! As usual, don't mind the typos..we only live once- /runs back into the cave

Royal Attire L>R 1/2
#svsss #moshang #comic
panels are described as "P(panel's number)" SQH [Narration]: I'm not a fan of playing dress up. [Nordern Fortress, Royal living quarters] p3: sqh[Narration]: Hairdos, layers enough to make the north feel hot, hairpins and jewelry that I dare not weight lest I find out they weight as much as me. Such a hassle. p4: MBJ: Are you done already? SQH: Yes. Did you not enjoy the show? p5: MBJ: Hmm. I would've enjoyed more if you'd let me do it. SQH (laughing): You take too long. We need to be practical today, my King. Come on, now. sqh[Narration]: But sometimes, [an] unavoitable [hassle]. Like today. p2: SQH [Narration]: So when it happens, I have fun in other ways. SQH: Ah. So beautiful. p3, SQH [Narration]: Taking care of my king. p4, sqh: Every one will be in awe of your presence, my king. But none more than me. SQH [narration]: Making sure he will be the most stunning person in the entire event... p5-6, MBJ: Then this king is satisfied. Let's finish this. The sooner we go, the faster we return. SQH [narration]: Althought the truth is that I'm happy only I get to see him bare and honest.

This one's from 2023! How time flies.. I love it still tho 😌 Mbj's little treasure [or how he doesn't mind being the royal dresser himself, every now and then]

mobei jun holds shang qinghua's face while dressing him, while shang qinghua, half naked, is on his way to giving a silence sign to the viewer to keep what they see a secret. Behind them, a faux window shows a peek of the northern mountains.

I propose to make universal the old policy of the Blackfriars conference at the American Shakespeare Center:

If you do not end your paper on time, you will be forced to exit, pursued by a bear. Literally, a bear will come take your paper from you.
The organizer, introducing the bear on stage A tardy speaker, trying to fend off the bear as he/she leans forward patiently.

This chaps my ass so bad. I had to respond. I know he won't read it, but it made me feel better. @iusc.bsky.social we have got to get this weasel out of office. #GOP #politics
A sleezy email from SC representative William Timmons that says "Dear Neighbor, Women and girls train for years to earn their place on the field, the court, and the podium. They deserve a fair and safe environment to compete. Allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports undermines fairness, puts female athletes at risk, and takes away opportunities they’ve worked their whole lives for. That’s why I’ve supported legislation in Congress to protect women’s sports and restore common sense to competition. I want to hear from you: Should women's sports be protected. Yes/No?" Dear Sir, Before I address the flagrant and disgusting transphobia displayed in this email, allow me to explain how blatantly you have rigged this poll. If you were genuinely interested in understanding your constituents’ views and acting in good faith, you would have posed the question in a neutral, precise manner. Instead, you chose an inflammatory framing — “should women’s sports be protected” — rather than something honest, such as “do you believe biological sex should be considered in gender-segregated sports.” You made this choice because you know the latter would not deliver the overwhelming support you are hoping to manufacture. As written, the poll forces anyone who does not oppose trans athletes competing with their cisgender peers to answer as though they are against protecting women’s sports, which is not the issue at all. The overt manipulation of this poll is not just the actions of a coward attempting to manipulate data to prop up his cruelty; it's evidence of a real disrespect for your constituents. This is so obvious I can only assume you take us all for barely literate, reactionary idiots. Outside of MAGA, which is swiftly imploding, most Americans, even here in South Carolina, are not blinded by bigotry and hate. We see what you and the rest of the GOP are trying to pull. Any representative who shows such disdain for his people has no business in his position. If you are determined to be a slimy, disingenuous, manipulative weasel who targets marginalized people to bolster your own power, you could at least have asked ChatGPT to vomit up a poll that was less transparently biased. I would suggest something better, but you have already demonstrated that selling your soul for a scrap of power and influence poses no moral difficulty for you. At this point, competent evil is the most one could reasonably hope for. Now, as promised, let's talk about the transphobia. There is no evidence that trans athletes are a threat to their cisgender peers. Tha…

I recently got back into one of my OG fandoms; The #Silmarillion. I had forgotten how much #Maedhros' story resonated with me, so I had to draw him. The background is a stained-glass image of his castle at #Himring. I hate that I have to use Glaze and make things look weird, but that's life.
A bust portrait of Maedhros (a character from the Silmarillion), a red haired elf, in a red wool cloak, with a stained-glass winter scene behind him. His expression is intense and serious as he looks into the "camera." He wears a gold brooch with a star of Feanor clasped at his throat. A stained-glass winter scene of a gray castle of Himring amid snow and purple pines. There are twisted, bare trees in the foreground. The sun rises over the mountains behind the castle. This is an unobstructed view of the stained-glass background in the Maedhros portrait.
