As many of you know, I live near the English Channel. On a walk along the seafront, a packed dinghy appeared from the dawn mist. A number of well dressed, well fed people stumbled ashore through the waves, grabbed me & started shouting they were from Piddington & claimed asylum

It’s interesting that my, ongoing & developing tinnitus now sounds like the silence in the second after something awful/horrific/loud/unplanned/upsetting/disastrous/hilarious happens, but all the time. Not annoying at all.

Because I’m a chancer & I’ve got 3 chronic, degenerative conditions.I also have severe Dupuytrens Contracture (being operated on both hands soon) plus a brain tumour & in recovery from a traumatic brain injury, & I’m deaf so have to wear hearing aids. It still took 3 attempts to be awarded PIP.

In 1987 we moved house. A little cottage that needed gutting all the way to new plaster throughout, new electrics, central heating, new roof & new kitchen. Being young & skint & mortgaged to the the eyebrows & above, I tackled most of the work myself 🧵
