Can’t prove climate change is real is there’s no data proving it, ammirite
The most iconic figure in the environmental sciences is the Keeling Curve, the CO₂ record from Mauna Loa, Hawaii.

@noaa.gov had a wonderful site where you could visualize and download these data, and now it's just gone. These data belong to us and we should not let this happen!

On a fascinating call. Broadly, the impact of a mass roll-out of heat pumps on the French grid is negligible once you factor in gas -> heat pumps, renovations, rebound effects, direct electric -> heat pumps. Annual consumption goes up or down with each factor but largely cancel each other out.

Grateful for the rain this week

That put down a forest fire in the Berkshires, which was one of many active burns popping up lately in the region

But the Northeast US’s 40 million acres of forest has issues that can create catastrophic fires, NYer reports

Maps of recent fires across the region resemble California in August, with hundreds of red dots.

At the public hearings for this atrocity, it was even pointed out by a hydrogen researcher that hydrogen is not going to be the answer ... and this #peaker got built anyway. It also wasn't made clear when the old existing #peaker would be shut down. So far, no movement on that.

Better than installing separate battery storage - make use of all the EV batteries! School buses are perfect. Usually sitting around at mid-day and then peak, they could soak up the sun and release back to the grid. www.utilitydive.com/spons/naviga...
