It's all gross. Billionaire owners and multi-millionaire players fighting over more money while constantly raising ticket prices, concessions, and making it impossible to watch the teams without spending a small fortune. Screw 'em all.

The city definitely needs more late-night spaces, especially since COVID ran roughshod over so many of them.
I went to so many games in the Calder era. They rarely won, but the U.C. was cheaper than a cover charge at a bar with my student I.D. back then. I simply can't think of college without Calder (and Arnason and Bell, the ABC line). R.I.P.

There's actually a fun story behind this: the guy who was NYC superintendent of school buildings from 1891 to 1923 was an architect who believed in holistic learning, and wanted to inspire kids to rise out of poverty by giving them a sense of the possibility of granduer through construction.
