This pisses me off because I am currently unable to have medications due to losing my healthcare. To make it worse, I can't afford medicine because I am neither poor or rich enough BUT apparently I can afford to pay my student loans because I am not poor enough. Drain me dry and toss my carcass.

I once went to Vancouver, and asked a pharmacist how much a vial of insulin costs, they said $35. Then I called my pharmacy in the states, and they said $360. Insulin companies extort their customers and people are dying because of it. Prices are getting better, but not by much. Keeping an 👁️ on this

We protest when we see injustice happen, but my mind keeps chewing over this thought: With all the protests we've had during the entire tenure of the Trump regime, have any had any effect on the powers that be?
We've lent so much of the power of our society to governing entities over the years. ⬇️

Those who know me well understand my relationship with the human species is a complicated one; a mixture of curiosity, marveling, loathing and frustration. On an individual basis, however, I form my opinions as I meet people. For individuals, I try to keep a neutral judgement until enough ⬇️

History will not be recorded by any human once this is said and done. There will be scars of our existence etched in the flesh of the Earth, reminders that the human species had been given opportunity to return to their place in the ecosystem of the planet and chose instead to destroy themselves.
With heat waves shattering temperature records across the globe, leading to needless deaths, let me just say that history will not look fondly on those who put fossil fuel profits above saving the planet.

For those with Student Loans, keep in mind that this regime has removed the SAVE plan, and in two years, the IBR AND the ICR will be eliminated, no thanks to that crap bill passed. Which means higher loan repayments and is harder on those with limited incomes. I hope the GOP, MAGA and that THING ⬇️

I will not celebrate this country's "birthday." Not when Native Americans are still seen as "savages" in the Declaration of Independence and still treated as such today. Not when women have lost the rights to our bodies. Not when Immigrants no matter their status are being treated as property to ⬇️

Our leaders have failed us. How many are willing to talk WITH their constituents these days? Actually sit down and have an honest communication where it isn't just them spreading their propaganda or election/re-election talking points and talking AT their voting base?

In this world, we tend to shine our own lights onto people that do not notice our existence. We offer celebrations for the famous and the infamous, whether dead or alive. We honor the contributions from those in books, but not those that are behind the scenes We don't acknowledge the invisible in⬇️

I've seen some mean people in my life, but to bear witness to tons of passing motorists throwing insults at a middle aged woman and an elderly lady while we tried to get her car off the road re-affirms that many people in my small city in Michigan are full of immature brats old and young that ⬇️

Someone told me recently that AI was here to stay, so we should get use to it.
What about lead paint? Asbestos? Many things came into our lives and "stayed" for years, decades even, until they were found to be harmful to the environment and/or human health.

The Bear has no more chains.
The Lion still has its sword.
Some ignore the Eagle screeching
While others watch,
Hungry for whatever carcass
They can claim.
The Cattle barely watch,
Lazily chewing their cud;
Being quiet, obedient food
To be consumed by work and war
Too domesticated to care.

I cannot celebrate the Artemis 2 voyage. Not when we have so much we should be doing at home, on this pale, blue dot.
We fight and quarrel and pretend we are something unique, something special, something privileged. But we fight over specks of land on a speck of dust...suspended in a light beam.

The greatest trick ever pulled in the entire world are rich men convincing poors that other poors are the cause of their woes.
They have parties while we bury loved ones that die in their wars.
We breed workers for their factories while they breed more Oligarchs. ⬇️

We humans pretend we are of something special, sometimes believing we are divinely created. I do not see divine creatures. I see creatures that wandered away from the shelter of the trees to make empires and wage wars over shiny metals. We are apart from Nature as a species, and if we will not ⬇️

Random morning thought:
Why are we, as citizens, forced to comply with laws and face court for possible criminal conduct while our leaders do not? And when they do, the court trials and punishment are not the same standard.

I waited to post this until I talked about my thoughts and limited knowledge of the military with my husband, an actual vet from the military.

One of our problems as human beings is "othering." We all do it, even the ones that claim to be inclusive. Even among minority groups. It has been our Achilles Heel as well. Oligarchs know that the best way to control us is to capitalize on our fear of the unknown. They encourage us through ⬇️
