Good plan, Australia and Canada.
Huge sigh, UK.

How long do we wait, how much do we lose, how stupid do we have to be?
Australia and Canada are leading the way - they are choosing closer ties with the EU.

The EU is our closest partner.

The UK government should put EU membership on the table. It's really a no-brainer.

It would be comical if a load of this came from Arab States like the Saudis that Trump has decline to assist when it came to the Houthis‘ advance.

It would be another example of “being suckered by Trump by being daft enough to believe you could trust him”.

Irish President Catherine Connolly just gave Trump the same face he wore after Helsinki. She told him, in her own words, that the normalization of war and genocide is not acceptable.

That's the look of a man who thought he was walking into a courtesy call — and got the riot act instead.

Inheritance tax is paid by less than 5% of estates and couples can already transfer up to £1m in property tax-free.

Abolishing it would be regressive, unmeritocratic and a bad use of £9bn.

In September we say goodbye to many of the UK bumblebees 💔

🍂 Old queens and their nests will naturally come to an end as summer turns into autumn.

💤 New queens will mate with males, feed heavily on pollen and nectar to create fatty stores of energy, then hibernate until the following spring.

On Tallinn's Kalamaja Street, a conventional traffic sewer has become a hybrid of two familiar Dutch concepts: the woonerf, or curbless living street where pedestrians, cyclists and drivers share the same space, and the fietsstraat, where bicycles are given priority and cars are effectively guests.🧵

The "naked” street lacks the traditional cues of car-first traffic engineering: Curbs disappear; signalling it's a shared space, and forcing drivers to slow down to below 20 km/h. Cyclists move comfortably along the corridor, while pedestrians are no longer confined to narrow sidewalks on the edges.

The Home Secretary's silence suggests either sympathy, indifference or ineffectiveness as regards the violent lawless thugs
I think the Government has really screwed itself here. It’s moral authority is in tatters when it encourages the arrest of peaceful protesters and yet does little to stop paramilitary thugs from causing chaos at our major ports.

The Home Secretary in particular has serious questions to answer.
